Silsoe Easter Craft Fair 2025
THANK YOU …
…. to everybody who came along to the Craft Fair in Silsoe Church on 12 April. We hope you enjoyed your visit and the children enjoyed decorating eggs and making Easter Cards.
The Craft Fair helped us raise enough money to pay the insurance premiums on the Church and Churchyard for nearly 3 months – this is a great help to our Church finances this year.
CONGRATULATIONS to Rachel B who won the Guess the Number of Eggs competition and got an Easter Chick filled with 181 eggs (and 6 Easter Bunnies) – that’s over 2kg of chocolate!
You can find more details about the Fair here – including the stalls which were there.

If you are a member of our Church family, please make sure you have signed a new form. This needs to be done even if you are on the current Roll
Church Electoral Rolls
The current Electoral Rolls for each of our Churches will expire just before each Annual Parochial Church Meeting (Pulloxhill 13/4, Flitton 27/4, Silsoe 11/5).
Electoral Roll are revised every 6 years and that time has come. The Roll is an important indicator of our Church family size and its commitment to the mission and ministry of the parishes and should reflect the regular worshipping Church congregation. It gives the Diocese a sense of our relative size and shape and has significant implications if the Roll does not reflect the congregation as this influences clergy provision in the future.
You may be contacted via your Church or there will be forms available in each Church. For more details please contact Maggie Jeeves for Silsoe or Clare Butler Ellis for Flitton.
Closing date 10 November 2024 – Something for the Half-Term?
Looking for something for the children to do over half-term? Why not let them get creative and show Rev Simon how they would decorate Silsoe Church Tower for Christmas?
Open to all children in Year 6 or under, the winning design will feature on the cover of December’s Silsoe News and the top 10 entries will receive edible prizes.
Use this link to download a drawing of the Tower (A4 size) or get a copy from school and let your child use their imagination. Drawings should be done in pencil or black pen as the cover is in black & white.
Entries should be dropped off at Silsoe Vicarage, Fir Tree Road, MK45 4EA by 10 November.

31 October 2024 – Light in the Darkness
Please join us in Silsoe Church for crafts, hot chocolate and a friendly welcome.
The Church will be open from 5pm to 6:30pm.
This is a FREE drop-in event for families and children
Everyone is welcome.
We have the theme for the 2025 Competition – Journeys – with a closing date of 30 September 2025 and you can find some suggestions as to how this might be interpreted here.
Silsoe Photography Exhibition 2024
On Saturday 12 October 2024, all the entries in this year’s Photo Competition were exhibited in Silsoe Church. We had nearly double the number entries from last year and Rev Simon & Rev Louise had a hard job choosing the winners from all the very good entries on the theme Nature.

Over 100 visitors came along to have a look at the photos, find out who had won and vote for their favourite image. Along with the photos from the Competition there was a display showing the Silsoe Beavers working towards their Photography Badge and two professional photographers – Charlie Nixon a wildlife photographer and Katrina Wilson a pet photographer – had their work on display. People took the opportunity to sit and chat with friends and neighbours over coffee and cakes or a lunch of home made soup.
