Kara de Napoli – An update
Kara has been on our Prayer List since January. She has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia & has finished Cycle 3 of chemo. This week she’s in Watford General having transfusions, scans and other tests and hopefully she will then be able to go home for a while before returning to Great Ormond Street for Cycle 4.
The main problem at the moment is that chemo destroys the immune system so she’s very prone to infections. However, the specialists at GOSH are pleased with her progress so far so it is hoped that she might be able to go back to part time schooling in September.
She’s very excited as she has been given a robot which lives in her classroom at school. It links into her computer at home so she can see her classroom, teacher and friends. She can join in with lessons when she feels up to it – modern technology is amazing!
At 10 years old, she has gone through a really awful time but she remains cheerful and positive.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
