3rd October 2026 – A Celebration of Animals

This service, held on the eve of Animal Welfare Sunday, is a chance to give thanks for the joy and companionship animals bring to our lives. The service will feature two very special moments.

First, we will offer an Act of Remembrance. We know that the loss of a pet is deeply felt. During a hymn, anyone who wishes to remember a beloved pet who has passed away is invited to bring a small token of remembrance—such as a photo, a favourite toy, or a collar—to the altar as a quiet act of love and memory.

Second, there will be an opportunity to have your pet Blessed.  All well-behaved pets are welcome in the Church for a blessing. For those bringing larger animals, such as horses or donkeys or dogs who need a bit of space, one of the Vicars will come outside to the churchyard to offer blessings, ensuring everyone, great and small, is included. If you can’t bring your pet to Church, bring a photo to be blessed.
