SILSOE PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2025
The theme for our 2025 Photography Competition is
JOURNEYS
The closing date is 6pm on 30 September 2025
There are two classes:
17 and under
18 and over
You can enter up to 5 photos, which you must have taken yourself.
Entries cost 50p per photo for 17 & under, £1 per photo for 18 & over.
The photos can be taken anywhere – they don’t need to be taken in Silsoe.
Phone or camera – it doesn’t matter which – just get snapping!
Don’t have a printer? Not a problem, we have 3 drop-in sessions when you can get your photos printed – Wednesday 24 September 5 -7pm, Sunday 28 September 5 – 7pm, Tuesday 30 September 4 – 6pm, all in Silsoe Church. Or you can email the files to silsoetreasurer@3churches.uk for printing. The cost is £1.50 per print (A4 size)
All photos will be on display at the Photography Exhibition in Silsoe Church on Saturday 11 October, when the winners will be announced and trophies presented*. Rev Simon and Rev Louise are our judges. There will also be a People’s Choice vote at the Exhibition with a medal for the most popular photograph.
*Provided there have been at least 10 entries in the class, the winner will receive a trophy, with medals for second and third places.

Here are some thoughts which might provide inspiration:






Physical Journeys Capture modes of transportation—trains, planes, bicycles, or walking paths—that symbolize movement.
Emotional Journeys Focus on moments that convey growth, change, or transformation, whether through portraits or candid shots.
Cultural Journeys Document experiences in different cultures, festivals, or traditions that highlight the diversity of human experiences.
Nature Journeys Showcase landscapes or wildlife, illustrating the journey through various ecosystems or seasons.
Urban Journeys Highlight the vibrancy of city life, capturing the hustle and bustle of streets, markets, or public transportation.
Departure Photograph a moment of beginning—a bus station, airport, or someone packing for a trip.
The Road Less Travelled Focus on off-the-beaten-path locations or unexpected journeys.
Travel Companions Capture the bond between people on a journey—friends, family, or even pets.
Milestones Document significant moments during a journey, such as reaching a summit, crossing a border, or celebrating an achievement.
Homecoming Reflect on the emotions tied to returning home after a journey, whether it’s a trip or a life change
