Reader Roy Pinnock
I am a widower with 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Initially I lived in Lilley for 48 years during which time I was a worshipper at St Peter’s Church, was a churchwarden and was invited to become a reader in 1971 and was licensed in 1975. During my time at Lilley I wrote 4 books about the village, in particular its proximity to the Chilterns.
Following redundancy in 1986 a house move was necessary and we chose to move to Barton-le-Clay as we had a daughter living in the village. I was duly licensed at St Nicholas’ Church and have completed 31 years as a Reader there. In addition I have regularly supported St James Church Pulloxhill in my capacity as Reader. I have now completed 42 years as a Reader.
My hobbies are gardening, reading and writing, the latter is now mainly concerned with sermons and regular contributions to the parish magazine

Following Rev Dave Bell’s Retirement in 2019, we are currently without a vicar.
However, an advertisement for a new vicar went into the Church Times in January and interviews are scheduled for 15 March 2020.
